This easy Mediterranean chicken lavash wrap is filled with grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, feta and cream cheese, and spinach. Wrapped in lavash flatbread for a quick lunch, these are best toasted for a meal in just 10 minutes!

Lavash is a Mediterranean thin flatbread with very simple ingredients and lots of fiber. It creates a great wrap that gets a little bit crispy when heated. Paired with the other Mediterranean-inspired ingredients, this wrap has a great combo of textures that are a little bit crunchy and creamy.

Packed with flavor, you’ll love these chicken wraps with potato chips, a simple butter lettuce side salad, or artichoke hummus and veggies. These are easy to make with leftover chicken from a cast iron roast chicken in a pinch.

The Best Mediterranean Chicken Wrap

I love a quick healthy lunch that I can make in 10 minutes or less and this chicken lavash wrap fits that requirement. Not only is this recipe high in protein, but also contains fiber and vegetables for a filling lunch. You’ll love these easy lavash wraps because:

  • Perfect for a quick meal – Can be made quickly the day before and reheated, or served cold.
  • Easy – Very minimal cooking and chopping.
  • Customizable – Sub the lavash with a gluten free wrap, if needed.

You can use these chicken wraps for meal prep and make ahead, then heat right before serving for a quick lunch. These can be made gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, Mediterranean diet, and heal your headache migraine diet friendly. For another version, don’t miss this chicken salad wrap.

Ingredients

Ingredients for mediterranean chicken wraps on a white table.
  • Grilled chicken – For this recipe, I generally use basic leftover grilled chicken or rotisserie chicken, whatever I have on hand! If purchasing, I recommend getting grilled chicken because it adds a little extra flavor.
  • Cream cheese – I use Philadelphia block cream cheese.
  • Feta – Feta is on the lower end of the aging process and fits with a Mediterranean diet. You could also substitute goat cheese, but this is a great flavor that will balance with the creaminess of the cream cheese.
  • Sundried tomatoes – Look for a sulfite-free brand. I buy them freshly made at Central Market, but you could use packed in oil too.
  • Spinach – Fresh spinach leaves or arugula could be used for a more peppery flavor.
  • Italian herb seasoning – I used Simply Organic.
  • Lavash – You could use any wrap, but I love using lavash wraps, which is like a very thin pita bread. They generally have more protein and fiber, with more simple ingredients than regular wraps. I used Atoria’s. These are generally found in the bakery/bread section of any grocery store.

Substitutions

  • Feta – For those in the elimination period, feta is a bit controversial. Normally I find people do well with it. Goat cheese makes a great subsitute!
  • Spinach – Arugula can be used.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes – These add a little bit of sweetness to counter the saltiness from the cheese. Roasted bell peppers would make a good substitute, or just omit them from the recipe.
  • Chicken – You can substitute shrimp or add more veggies and cheese to make this all vegetarian.
  • Lavash – Large tortillas or spinach wraps could be used.
  • Gluten free – Use your favorite gluten free wrap.
  • Dairy free – Use a hummus spread as a base.

How to Make a Lavash Wrap

Process photos showing how to roll a chicken wrap.
  1. Spread the cheese – Start with a soft lavash wrap and spread the center with cream cheese, sprinkling the Italian seasoning on top.
  2. Add in filling – To the center, add the spinach, tomatoes, chicken, and feta. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
  3. Roll the wrap – Fold both short ends into the center, then roll, starting with the long end and tucking the short ends in while rolling. Press down to make the chicken wrap more compact.
  4. Air fry or toast – Place seam side down in an air fryer and air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 4-5 minutes. You could also bake in an oven or toaster oven for the same amount of time and temperature.

Serving Suggestions

A cut chicken wrap stuffed with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled chicken, and cheese.

These lavash wraps go with pretty much any lunch side. A few recommendations:

  • Cut veggies – carrots, celery, cucumber, radish.
  • Potato chips – plain is best.
  • Side salad
  • Fresh fruit – Cantaloupe, strawberries, watermelon, peaches, or honeydew.
  • Peach mocktail – So delicious and refreshing!

Meal Prep Ideas

This Mediterranean wrap can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 1-3 days, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or foil. Keep in mind, the lavash is more likely to dry out and crack this way.

For grab and go – Have them wrapped up and just toast them before eating.

No toaster access – To make these ahead without using a toasted, I recommend just a general wheat wrap or tortilla as lavash tends to try out faster.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I store lavash?

Lavash flatbread is best fresh, so consume with in 1-3 days of opening. Storing in the fridge tends to dry out the wraps more. I recommend freezing if you have a lot leftover.

Is lavash bread gluten free?

No, lavash is usually not gluten free. You can easily substitute a gluten free wrap instead for this recipe and it will be delicious.

What else can I make with lavash?

Any type of flatbread or wrap would be great. Try my naan pizza using lavash instead!

Ingredients

  • 4 lavash wraps
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 pound grilled chicken, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sundried tomatoes, chopped small
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese

Instructions

  • This rolls much better with fresh lavash wraps. If a little dry, microwave for 10-15 seconds with a damp paper towel on top.
  • Spread the lavash with cream cheese and sprinkle with seasoning and fresh pepper. Add the sliced chicken, sundried tomatoes, spinach leaves, and top with crumbled feta cheese. Fold one side of the lavash in, then fold both ends in and roll the rest like a burrito. Place seam down into an air fryer basket or on a baking sheet.
  • Air fry or bake at 400 degrees F for about 4-5 minutes or until the outsides are just crispy. Cut in half and serve!

Notes

  • Pre-cooked grilled chicken breast, baked chicken, leftover chicken, or rotisserie chicken can all be used for this recipe.
  • Feta can be subbed for goat cheese, if needed, or omitted. Arugula can be subbed for spinach.
  • For dairy free, use hummus instead of cheese.
  • If you don’t have access to an oven or air fryer to toast the wrap, a tortilla wrap can be used as well and served cold. These tend to keep softer than lavash.

I liked it! Most of my kids liked it too…and for my more selective eaters, it was easy to customize to their palates. The only change I made was to use the garlic and herb flavored cream cheese instead of plain. My big family ate the whole recipe, so I’ll have to double it for meal prepped lunches next time. Thanks!
