Ingredients

- Naan bread - Use any store-bought naan bread for this recipe. I like fresh ones I can get at my local Central Market. If using a frozen naan like Trader Joe's, definitely pre-bake it!
- Tomatoes - You can use fresh heirloom tomatoes in the summer or use a marinara sauce in the winter. I like to use Rao's sensitive. Sprouts or Pomi strained tomatoes are great as a base too. Heirloom tomatoes can also be substituted for any fresh tomatoes you like or have on hand!
- Garlic - If just using tomatoes, rubbing garlic on the naan adds a little extra flavor.
- Burrata Cheese - Extra creamy! But you can also substitute mozzarella.
- Extra toppings - I used arugula here and basil would also be great.
How to Make Naan Pizza in the Oven

Step 1: Prepare the naan
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Spread a little bit of olive oil on the naan bread and rub minced garlic into it. If using marinara, add 1-2 tablespoons on top of the naan and spread it around.
Step 2: Add tomatoes
Add the sliced tomatoes on top and sprinkle with kosher salt and black pepper to season.
Step 3: Bake
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit/ 200 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes or until crispy.
Step 4: Add toppings
Then gently break apart the burrata and place it on top of the naan while the pizza is warm. Top with arugula, fresh basil, or whatever toppings you like!

Topping Ideas
Naan pizza can be topped with many different things if you want to switch it up from the burrata and tomatoes. Here are a few ideas.
Best toppings before baking:
- Mushrooms
- Bell peppers
- Cooked fresh sausages
- Olives
- Green onions
- Dried herbs and seasonings
- Mozzarella
- Spinach or kale
Best for after baking:
- Burrata

Substitutions
This baked burrata pizza is extremely versatile! Here are a few ways to mix it up.
- Naan - You can use any flatbread you'd like, whole wheat or regular. If doing HYH, just watch for added yogurt.
- Tomatoes - Substitute fresh tomatoes with marinara sauce or strained tomatoes - about 1-2 tablespoons per naan bread pizza. If tomato sensitive, use a nomato sauce like the one in my cookbook.
- Mozzarella - Burrata be substituted with fresh mozzarella cheese, but apply before baking instead of after.
- Basil - Instead of fresh basil after cooking, use an Italian seasoning to season the tomatoes before baking.
- Gluten free - For a gluten free recipe, I haven't found any good store-bought brands, but you could use a homemade gluten free naan.
- Dairy free - You can make this dairy free by omitting the cheese! It's still delicious.
Storage and Reheating
- Refrigerator - This will keep well for up to 3 days in the fridge.
- Freezer - If you plan to freeze this for later, I recommend using marinara sauce and mozzarella for best results. Fresh heirloom tomatoes and burrata are best for fresh naan flatbread pizzas!
- Make ahead - You can build these out the day of and pop them in the oven as needed. I'd only do this with fresh tomatoes as using a sauce could make the crust a little more soggy.
- Fix a soggy crust - It happens. Sometimes we load up our naan pizzas a little too much with cheese and sauce. If you'd like to crisp up the crust a little bit more there are two methods I find to be helpful - air fryer and skillet. Either warm the crust over medium, low heat in a large skillet till golden brown (this won't affect the toppings on top) or place in the air fryer at 380 degrees fahrenheit for about 2-3 minutes.

What to Pair with Naan Bread Pizza
A few ideas to pair with these personal pizzas! For dipping, I recommend my homemade ranch. For a side salad, I love this butter lettuce salad or Caesar salad.
If you're serving these as an appetizer, I highly recommend experimenting with a few toppings for a full spread. This whipped ricotta dip would also go well!

I use the Trader Joe's Naan and make and freeze these 12 at a time. I use Wisconsin brick cheese, green pepper, shallots, olives, and mushrooms. I love being able to grab one, defrost and broil for a few minutes.
This recipe is so quick, easy and delicious. It was perfect for a pain day!
Thank you, Mandy!
